December, 1924, and is in receipt of a salary of £340 per annum on the scale £320: £10: £360 with free quarters. He is at present, during the absence on leave of Mr. Davies, acting in the post of Assistant Secretary.
I propose that he should be regarded as in Class III of the Senior Clerical Service but that, as his
scale of salary has a higher maximum than the maximum of Class III, he should continue to draw salary on his present scale with the right to free quarters, until such time as he is promoted to Class II, when he would drop the right to free quarters and be placed on the approved scale for Class II.
